Tanks and Armor
“Diana” Fv 107 Scimitar CVRT
Built by Alvis for the British military in the 1970s, the Scimitar is a nimble light tank with its 30mm Rarden autocannon and modernized Cummins engine. It’s notable for being the fastest tank ever produced with a world record of 51 MPH, and is still used by the UK and Ukraine today.
“Monty” FV 434 ARV
A version of the FV 432 Armored Personnel Carrier, the FV 434 Armored Recovery Vehicle built by GKN specializes in rescuing and repairing damaged tanks with its heavy crane. The heaviest vehicle currently in our collection, it weighs 18 tons, is easy to drive and perfect for crushing cars!
“bonnie” M16 MGMC
Derived from the troop carrier M3 Halftrack, White Motor Company’s M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage is equipped with a .50 Cal quad mount to shoot down aircraft. The gun mount is currently under restoration, but this beautiful 1943 Halftrack is ready for action!
“Desert Fox” SD. KFZ. 251
Arriving March, Replica built on Czech OTO
Historic Military Vehicles
“Green Giant” CCKw 2 1/2 Ton
While no truck won WWII, the humble “Deuce and a Half” came close. GMC made over 500,000 CCKWs of America’s 2.5 million strong motor pool, including supplying a third of the Soviet truck fleet. This 1942 example was restored by us 80 years later, so you can drive the 6x6 that supplied the war!
“Lorri” CMP C30
Also made by GMC, the Canadian Military Pattern lorry supplied the British Empire and Commonwealth throughout the war. Matching the CCKW’s 500,000 number, they were also built by Ford and Dodge. Our GMC version was built in 1941 and served in many Canadian parades before moving here!
“Bobbie” Jeep G503
With over 600,000 built, the Jeep became the iconic workhorse of America in WW2. Designed by Bantam and produced by Ford and Willys as the GPW and MB, Jeep has remained a household name to this day. Ours was originally the CJ3 Willys Civilian model, but has been converted to wartime configuration.
“Kubel” Type 82 Kübelwagen
Built on top of the original “people’s car” (aka the Beetle), Volskwagen built just 50,000 Type 82s for the German war effort. Named “tub car” by troops after its shape, it predates the Jeep despite comparisons. Our beloved Kubel is a reproduction based on a 1974 Beetle and is street legal!
“Warthog” M1151 Hmmwv
In 1983 AM General produced the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, better known as the Humvee, for the U.S. military. Remembered for its service in the Gulf War and the War on Terror, the Humvee was massive leap forward over the army Jeeps of the past, a difference you can drive!
